The Carnival of Lorca, which will be held on January 31, 6, 7 and 13 February, continues to grow (29/01/2016)

It is expected that some 2,000 people parade on 6 February, which is almost 500 more participants than last year, more than double that in 2014.

The Councillor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, reported that Lorca celebrate the Carnival day January 31, 6, 7 and 13 February, an increase in the number of participants in the 19 troupes.

In fact, the Carnival Parade on February 6th it will compose some 2,000 people, which is almost 500 more than they did last year and more than double those who participated in 2014.

Llamas explained that "Lorca Carnival poster this year is the work of German Lorca resident Gerad Opeen, and your program will begin this Sunday 31 at 12:00 at the Teatro Guerra with the presentation of the figures of Carnival . The Momo will be represented this year by the Comparsa de San José, the Musa by the Comparsa of Puri and Queen by the Ballet of Carmen Franco. The event will also serve the Neighborhood Association of San Juan Vineyard ".

Furthermore, on Saturday February 6 at 18:00 will be the Grand Carnival Parade, which starts in Calle Perez Casas, down the street Nogalte, Cuesta de San Francisco, Prince Alfonso Street, Oval, Avenida Juan Carlos I to the Garden Palace Ruano.En this parade will be three carriages, one for each of the main characters in this party.

It childhood costume contest with prizes for the best costume for baby, best girl costume, best costume group and appointment of the Queen Children will be held.

On Saturday February 13 at 19:00 at the Teatro Guerra will proceed to the performance of the groups and participants in the Carnival jokes Lorca 2015.

The groups participating in this edition are Ballet Mari Luz Soto, Pirates kids Nursery Anais Colegio Juan Gonzalez, Colegio Virgen de las Huertas, Colegio Andrés García Soler, Comparsa Fantasy Barriera, Campillo College, Comparsa La Torrecilla, Association Residents of San Juan Vineyard, Campillo Women's Association, People's University, New Lorca Association, the Ballet Carmen Franco, College of Puri, the Comparsa de San José and the novelty of the heart the Bolivian Association of America, Narciso Yepes College The Songs and Dances Virgen de las Huertas and the OJE Comparsa.
