Researchers at the University of Murcia held a workshop on heritage, tourism and territory (05/02/2016)

The activity is part of the research project "Cultural tourism in the development of the historical heritage of Lorca: actors and strategies", sponsored by the Seneca, University of Murcia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the City of Lorca Foundation

The Councillor of Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has reported on the celebration during last Wednesday and Thursday of a workshop that was entitled "Lorca: heritage, tourism and territory."

This activity is part of the research project "Cultural tourism in revitalizing the heritage of Lorca: actors and strategies", funded by the Young Leaders Program in Research of the Seneca Foundation and sponsored by the University of Murcia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and City of Lorca.

Montiel explained that "for months the research group" Territorial dynamics: analysis and management "of the Department of Geography at the University of Murcia has been working on this research project in order to analyze the relationship between heritage, tourism and territory in our this town, different teachers and researchers have analyzed the impact of tourism in Lorca from different points of view. congress tourism, trade, property, embroidery or Easter ".

The workshop was inaugurated on Wednesday in the auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Vice President for Training and Innovation University of Murcia, Pedro Miralles.
