On Thursday, June 12 opens the exhibition "Women of Water" by Thomas Abella, in the Garden Ruano (11/06/2008)

The councilman of Culture of the Municipality of Lorca, Rosa Medina has reported this morning that on Thursday, June 12, from 20:30 hours in the Garden will open an exhibition of Thomas Ruano Abella "Women of Water."

This is an exhibition of photographs and other materials you want to get closer to realities far as the Ethiopian, and more specifically to the reality of women in that country, approaching the knowledge of an unjust world.

In the exhibition, faces, women, power, laughter, drama, drums, colors, community, portray the reality of access to water as a source of life, its relationship with women in many parts of the world.

It is an opportunity to recognize and highlight the dignity that these women have even so precarious realities.

Thomas Abella is a photographer with extensive experience in translating so many faces in their jobs and do it with an entity as Intermon Oxfam, an international reference in complaint and alternative as axes of a same action.

This exhibition is sponsored by Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo and has the support of the Municipal Council for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca.
