Lorca swimmer Kevin Méndez Martínez, 17 years old, belonging to the Swimming Club Lorca, will participate in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, which were held held from 6 to 17 Septiermbre.

Mendez participated in the 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 400 free and 100 backstroke and 4x100 styles, which has been prepared during the month of July in Sierra Nevada, along with the rest of the national team.

Currently on another merger in Barcelona and then travel to Madrid to train in the High Performance Centre before departing for Beijing on August 28.

RESULTS HIGHLIGHTS

YEAR 2007:

-XIV Summer Championship Absolute FEDC Spain (Castellón): Gold in 50 butterfly, silver in 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley.

IBSA World Championships-III in Sao Paulo: silver in 100 butterfly.

YEAR 2008:

Absolute Championship Spain-winter (Barcelona): Bronze in 200 styles.

-International Open in Berlin (22-25 May): Gold in 200m medley and silver in 100 butterfly.

"British Open in Sheffield (25-27 April): 4th in 100 butterfly.

-XV Summer Championship Absolute FEDC Spain (Torrevieja): Silver in 200 individual medley and bronze in 200 freestyle and 50 butterfly.
