PROEMPLEO-LORCA Project III will provide training and practice to 320 unemployed people in the city (28/08/2008)

PROEMPLEO-LORCA Project III, managed by the Department of Employment and Local Development, will begin its training activities next September.

This project will provide training and work practice in 29 different professions, more than 320 people unemployed, who receive a grant assistance of 300 euros per month.

As announced Eulalia Ibarra, Councilmember City Council Employment Lorca, "the first courses to be put in place are the" home help assistant, "" Concierge "maintainer" and "Recovery of degraded areas, in to be attended by 35 people unemployed in some cases, belong to groups of people with disabilities, immigrants or Roma. For this first phase have been submitted 180 applications, of which 68% are women.

The courses, which will last two hundred hours for a period of four months, include theoretical and practical training of students as well as making work practices during the last two months of courses.

Ibarra explained that the "draft-LORCA PROEMPLEO III aims at the professional qualification of unemployed persons, especially in specific areas of focus groups with special needs such as child care, elderly, sick or disabled.

Similarly, it is also intended to achieve the qualification of unemployed belonging to groups at risk of social exclusion. "

The contract is valued at the amount of 903,735.41 euros, of which 722,988.33 euros, 80% of the cost, are provided by the European Social Fund, while the remaining 20%, € 186,747.08 euros, belong the financing of the Municipality of Lorca.

The deadlines to apply for participation in these courses will be open periodically.

Interested participants may pick up applications at the Department of Employment and Local Development and the Department of Women.

These applications can also be downloaded from the municipal website www.concejaliadeempleo.lorca.es.

Ibarra wanted to add that this new project adds to "the 75 places in training courses funded by the Regional Employment Service and Training in the Region of Murcia, and temporary employment programs that will employ 69 people.
