Tuesday September 2 kicked off the events of the Fair Virgen de las Huertas, which will run until Monday 8th.
In particular, yesterday afternoon took place several competitions, among them the paintings and cakes.
In the day's contest will be held on brisca, at 21 hours, and summer theater, at 22 am in the Plaza of the Wise King.
Over the next days there will be more summer movies, live performances, sports and the Proclamation, to be conducted this year by Eulalia Ibarra, a municipal councilor of Lorca and will be delivered on Friday, 5 to 21 hours.
As for the religious, from August 31 through the end of the festivities will be held the ninth in honor of the Virgen de las Huertas, at 8 pm, and staffed each day with a different chorus.
Continuing with the religious part of the Fair Girl, on Sunday at eight o'clock in the afternoon we held a Mass to be held in the traditional wreath, various guilds, groups, associations, the Municipal Corporation and private citizens delivered to the patron saint the city of Lorca floral offerings.
The President of the Brotherhood Virgen de las Huertas, María Sánchez Rubio, stressed that "in recent years, the wreath has grown dramatically, showing the devotion that Lorca are the Virgen de las Huertas."
The same Sunday, at 21.30 hours will be held the serenade to the Virgin, with the participation of Lorca's Municipal Band and Pipe and Drum Band "Blessed Fray Pedro Soler."
On Monday, day eight, the feast of the Virgen de las Huertas and, therefore, important day of the festivities, Masses will be held every hour from six o'clock in the Sanctuary of the Virgen de las Huertas, while at 11 in the same place, they celebrate Mass, to be officiated by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Juan Antonio Reig Pla.
The Modus Novus Choir will participate in this Mass to be attended by the Municipal Corporation.
At 19 hours there will be a new Mass and perform the traditional procession, in which the Virgen de las Huertas parade through the streets of the neighborhood on his new throne, which has been donated by the bearers.
In the procession also involve the groups of the XIX International Folklore Festival "Virgen de las Huertas, which will close, after 22 hours, the Feria Chica 2008.
María Sánchez Rubio has said that "it is important to Lorca tipping the patron, since, apart from all the events to be held, the religion is essential in these parties."
Specifically, the President of the Brotherhood Virgen de las Huertas, highlighted "the wreath, which is precious, the quantity and quality of donations" and "the new throne of the Virgin, which is lovely."
Similarly, Mary Smith wanted to "encourage all Lorca to accompany his patron and participate in religious activities that are going to celebrate."
