Lorca Town Hall this winter planted 20,500 plants to give a holiday to the gardens of the town (02/12/2008)

Councilman Parks and Gardens of the City of Lorca, Angel Meca, announced this morning that the Consistory will plant 20,500 seasonal plants to give a holiday touch to the gardens of the town.

Mecca pointed out that "this year we expanded the range of species that adorn our gardens, making an effort on those that create interesting gardens from the ornamental point of view, the four seasons."

"For this time it will proceed with the planting of plants typical representative of these dates, highlighting the more than 6,000 poinsettias (poinsettia) red, pink, white and yellow," added Mecca.

Specifically, we will plant 5,000 red poinsettia, 500 and 500 pink poinsettia white poinsettia.

In addition, thoughts planted 5,000, 3,000 cyclamen, 1,500 card charging, 3,500 and 1,500 from other brassica species.

Among the gardens that will host this flora highlights the squares of the Oval, of Columbus, Calderon, that of Embroidery, San Vicente and Santo Domingo, along with the gardens of San Fernando, La Viña, Cristo Rey, San José , San Cristóbal, San Diego and other neighborhoods and districts.

All these flowers have been produced in the Vivero Municipal de La Torrecilla.

In addition, Councilmember Parks and Gardens has stressed that the City continues with the distribution of plants in schools preschool children on the occasion of the spring and in order that children begin to become familiar with the care of plants.

Also, since this council is campaigning in pine plantation forests in collaboration with schools requesting it and guided visits to the municipal nursery school, together with the Department of Education.

Similarly, the Department of Parks and Gardens makes educational support and practical environmental training courses dependent on the Department of Employment, in addition to any activities of general interest that we propose.
