Nearly 4,000 Lorca will benefit from an investment of 273,000 euros to expand the coverage of DTT (12/01/2009)

Councilman Information Society of the City of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, announced that the city council will proceed to introduce 5 new transmitting facilities of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in different districts of our municipality.

Montalvan has detailed that "we are talking of bringing DTT to nearly 4,000 residents in hamlets Lorca, which is an important step to ensure that all citizens have the new system even before the digital switchover.

In fact the objective of this City Council is to have everything prepared to avoid problems in the system change.

In this sense, and graceful to the agreement we signed with the Autonomous Community, we will carry out a series of actions designed to extend digital coverage to meet or exceed the analog and meet the timing requirements of the National Transition DTT.

The new emission centers will be located in La Tova, which will benefit 544 residents, Zarzadilla of Totana, which will serve 525 people, Coy, where you can access this service a total of 476 people, Morata, a hamlet in which will benefit 581 neighbors, and almonds, which will have access to DTT 1,788 citizens.

The mayor of the Information Society explained that the City will continue to facilitate the installation of DTT broadcasting centers and ensuring proper operation and maintenance cost to the municipality's citizens.

The Ministry, meanwhile, will finance the installation of transmitting facilities and recurrent expenditures for the year 2010.

The estimated costs for the municipality of Lorca total amount of 225,000 euros.

The City Council also will continue actions to improve the degree of connection of citizens to DTT, in relation to community facilities and TV reception with the purchase of tuners, mainly in public buildings, to receive signals DTT.

These actions will be financed by the Ministry through an investment of 8,000 euros, amount which must be added another 40,000 euros for other public awareness campaigns to be carried to term over the coming months by the Municipal Town Hall.
