The Councillor for Education and University of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, this morning three concerts ethnic, which has organized the Session with Social Work CajaMadrid for students of 2 º and 3 º of Primary aged between 8 and 12 years.
This educational activity, called "Sounds of Earth" will be held at the Cultural Center of the City this Friday, February 6, three days, beginning at 10:00 am, 11:30 and 18: 00 hours.
Attendance at the first two concerts will be in collaboration with schools, while afternoon family activity will be open to everyone.
Peñarrubia explained that the concerts are free, for the school and include a selection of ethnic music (from Eastern Europe, Latin American, African and Iberian) and played many musical styles that, in turn, will be illustrated with a multimedia projection.
In addition to music, attendees will learn the stories and anecdotes about the origin and culture of the rhythms played, ranging from music Balkan, Slavic, Turkish, Romanian, Andean, Brazilian, Caribbean, North African, Nigerian, from different areas of the Iberian Peninsula and the Southern Cone of America, ...
The Councillor for Education added that "with these concerts is pursued, in addition to expanding the awareness and interest in music among these children, promote values such as tolerance, integration and solidarity, since the presence of students from other countries increasingly evident in our classrooms, it is now more necessary to work these principles.
We believe that all those who helped in a better understanding of other customs and traditions facilitate coexistence, integration and respect among different cultures, fostering a more tolerant society and a less favorable schools conflict. "
These concerts will extend the range of cultural programming of classical music and theater being done by the Municipality of Lorca for schoolchildren in the municipality.
