The Civil Guard dismantled a clandestine dog farm Yorkshire Terrier (27/03/2009)

Have been detained the 49 specimens of this breed found on the premises, a warehouse setting that lacked mandatory authorizations.

Dogs, 48 females and 1 single male, were allegedly used for intensive breeding and subsequent sale on the black market at a price lower than legal.

The proceedings began after the girl contacted the SEPRONA reporting that he had discovered a captive dogs in poor condition.

Service agents Nature Conservation (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard, in collaboration with staff from the Animal Health Service of the Directorate General of Livestock in the region of Murcia, has dismantled the so-called "OPERATION YORK", hatchery underground dog breed Yorkshire Terrier in the town of Lorca.

In the facility, a warehouse setting with 27 sheet metal cages, were found 49 dogs of that breed, of which only one was male and was supposedly designed to cover the adult females.

According to the documents found at the scene, to this end, the owner made a follow-up dates jealousy and animal breeding.

Once born puppies sold on the black market at a price lower than the legal market.

At the time of inspection SEPRONA only 2 copies were puppies.

The farm did not have all required approvals pursuant to its performance, record books, movement and veterinary service, as provided in the law on the subject.

For its part the dogs lacked for the most part of health cards, individual identification system and documentation of mandatory vaccinations for these animals.

Although dogs possessed enough food and water, the poor state of facilities that had not been cleaned for months, and the fact that the animals had very long hair, suggests to researchers that the hatchery was not enough served.

The investigations began after the girl contacted the SEPRONA very concerned, reporting the discovery of a ship setting where a large number of captives and dogs were in poor condition.

Dogs Yorkshire Terrier breed have two mating seasons per year, giving birth, after 2 months of pregnancy, 3 to 4 pups in each delivery.

The specimens are among the most traded on the market, the best specimens can reach 1,000 euros in the legal market.
