The Consistory lorquino receive 48,000 euros for the accommodation of women victims of violence and their children, as well as 68,000 euros to improve and expand programs that promote equal opportunities for both sexes
The City Council of Women of the Municipality of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, has announced that the municipal coffers will receive this year's Women's Institute of the Autonomous Community of 68,000 euros aid for developing programs that promote equal opportunities between women and men, representing an increase of 28,000 euros compared to that received in 2008, an amount representing 70% rise over the previous grant.
Lopez explained that "the Local Government Board has approved this morning to sign this important improvement of the regional grant that will allow us to expand, improve and innovate in equality projects, strengthening and promoting campaigns as of 8 March and November 25, as well as programs like the one recently launched a pilot of attention to rural women, with which we are decentralizing our services for the first time in parishes to reach all women. "
Similarly, the Regional Institute for Women has awarded the Consistory Lorca Lorca a grant of 48,000 euros for the maintenance of the Municipal House Battered Women's Shelter, which increases the amount received 12,000 euros last year representing an increase of 33.3%.
In this way the Autonomous assume the entire cost of maintaining the equipment in which houses and care for abused women and their children, at times those in need.
Antonia Lopez thanked the Regional Government the great efforts being made to improve policies of Women in the municipality.
Strengthening the municipal library service
In another development, the Local Government Board has also approved the provisional award of the Supplementary and Auxiliary Services for the operation of the Municipal Network of Libraries of Lorca, which will strengthen, as needed, the staff of the Department of Education Lorca Town Hall, due to the significant increase in the municipal library network being made by the Consistory in neighborhoods and villages.
Agreement with APANDIS for employing disabled people
On the other hand, the Municipal Government has also approved signing a cooperation agreement with the Association of Parents of Children with Intellectual Disabilities County Lorca (APANDIS) to facilitate the employability of disabled persons, for which the City Council subsidize Lorca EUR 71,480 training program, integration and job placement and occupational gardening sector, as well as concierge, ordinance, vigilant doorman buildings and municipal facilities, aimed at people with intellectual disabilities in the municipality of Lorca.
The six recipients of this program will develop their work in parks and gardens as decided by the Municipal Department of Parks and Gardens.
APANDIS considers the occupational sectors included in this social project has good prospects for a better and easier social integration and employment of mentally handicapped, being at the same time, the city of Lorca the entity that has the largest landscaped areas and buildings public in the municipality, so understanding is also beneficial to the public interest.
