The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, along with the mayor of Education Jose Joaquin Peñarrubia, and the councilor in charge of the parish, Francisco Montiel, inaugurated the new Palm Zarcilla library.
The mayor has said that it comes with this new center and are a total of 9 libraries that are part of the Municipal Library Network.
In particular, the tendrils is the 5 th library in mixed mode or shared, ie, providing a double service on one hand and school library during school hours and, secondly, as a Public Library, for all the neighbors in addition to the community education, outside school hours.
We are talking about strengthening the infrastructure that we have in our municipality for a better use of existing resources.
This new library service is located on the ground floor of the Rural School Package "Ginés Romero Arcas" which brings together schools Avilés, Coy, Councillor, Parish, Zarcilla Zarzadilla Palm and Totana.
For their operation the city of Lorca, through the Department of Education and University, has purchased new furniture to accommodate the use of libraries with public reading points for adults and children, in addition to the purchase of public funds for all and in different formats over 1,000 copies.
Such material includes both works on paper, such as sound recordings, video library service and digital files for use on computers.
Also from the city council will provide the necessary personnel to open in the afternoon.
Francisco Jodar has indicated that the implementation of this library renew the Council's commitment to our city for the promotion of all activities related to promoting education and culture, and because all Lorca both the village and the hamlets, can access the different services available to them as useful facilities like this.
