The restored image of the Immaculate Conception Chapel Secret City Hall will be delivered this afternoon the Mayor of Lorca (04/06/2009)

This evening will take place the official presentation of the Immaculate Conception Chapel Lorca Secret City Hall, following the work carried out by the Center for Restoration of the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage at a ceremony to be held from 19:00 at the Garden Ruano.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, the Councillor of Culture, Rosa Medina and the Director General of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets Ujaldón Enrique, who will present the first mayor of the city of the restored image of the Immaculate Conception seventeenth century, which is kept in a chapel on the Board of Councils, which will be exhibited in the museum house Huerto Ruano, until next June 22, when he will return to its usual place.

The Immaculate Conception Chapel Secret City

The Immaculate Conception Chapel Secret City is a sculpture workshop linked to the Mena and in particular, the prominent sculptor Pedro de Mena Granada (1628-1688), related to those cultural and artistic links established by the geographical proximity itself from Five hundred but confirmed in the seventeenth century, between Granada and some centers of the former Diocese of Cartagena, such as Murcia or Lorca; known is also the existence of direct orders to the neighboring Andalusian city given its strong artistic roots, on many occasions, showing a sensitive dependence before the onset more baroque genuine local.
