The City of Lorca begins the record for the award of the work of the new institute in the amount of 5,442,370 euros (03/07/2009)

The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, announced this morning the Local Government Board has approved the beginning of the procedure for award of works in the new high school No. 6 in the town of Lorca, in the Plan of Municipal Investment Consistory (PIMUN), amounting to € 5,442,370.05, funded entirely by the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community.

"Once the basic design and execution of this new center will undertake the recruitment process for the commencement of work soon," added Peñarrubia.

The new institute will house 22 classrooms in the city for 690 Middle and High School students and other facilities to be built on a plot of 11,500 m2 located in the former headquarters of the former sports facilities Sancho Dávila, which will be located on University Campus Lorca.

Specifically, they will rise to 16 units to about 30 students of secondary school classrooms, and 6 classes to 35 students in high school, ie a total of 480 and 210 respectively.

In addition to these classes, the building will have a classroom technology workshop, a music, another computer and a plastic to secondary school, along with a computer room, three laboratories (physics, chemistry and natural sciences) a classroom and a computer workshop for high school drawing.

The facility will also have a library, a gym, two sports courts, toilets for students and teachers as well as offices for the director, head teacher, secretary, guidance, seminars, support integration, AMPA and students.

The main building, ground floor and two floors, will have a floor area of 4,577 m2, also including reprographics, reception, cafeteria, general store, bathroom cleaning and trash.

For its part, the sports hall have a floor area of 564 m2.

Along with the sports facilities there is also a covered porch, a playground, a parking area, gardens and a small garden.

Councillor of Education has reported that "with this as we take a new step in the continued implementation of our election commitments, which go through constant commitment to increase educational opportunities for our town, radically changing the landscape of education Lorca. "

"This new institute is built to meet the current and future demand in this area of the city that provides new developments and increasing youth population," he added Peñarrubia, who has used his appearance to thank the considerable effort being undertaken by the Autonomous Region in Lorca and its collaboration with the Consistory Lorca.
