The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the councilman of Youth council of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, today visited the summer camp held in the shelter Calnegre tips in Lorca, where during the month of July, a group of 50 young water activities and sports.
From July 1 until next Friday, July 10, live together in the camp a group of 50 youths, aged between 14 and 17, from Guipúzcoa and La Rioja.
During this period, participants will develop different environmental education activities and ethnology, and environmental pathways, scuba diving introductory courses, visits to places of environmental interest and scenic workshops recycling and reuse of materials.
They are also scheduled various sporting activities such as indoor climbing, archery, canoeing, water sports and games guidance.
On the other hand, are programmed massage and yoga workshops, crafts and musical entertainment as well as cooperative games and entertainment activities.
Lopez said that "young people coming from other regions, promoting cultural exchange and harmony between them through sports, cultural and environmental."
About 1,000 people enjoy the camps organized for this summer, half of them come from the Region of Murcia and the other half from various regions of Spain.
The Murcia have the opportunity to attend the activities of other nine regions: Cantabria, Asturias, Aragon, Castilla y Leon, Basque Country, La Rioja, Castilla la Mancha, Galicia, Navarra.
In the Region of Murcia different camps are held in the High Performance Centre, CAR, the Narejos, in the youth hostel Calarreona, Eagles, and tips Hostel Calnegre in Lorca.
The camp activities, along with the labor camps are part of the campaign 'Summer Youth 2009' launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, through the Institute of Youth.
The total budget for this campaign is 500,000 euros, of which the Youth Institute provides € 410,000 and the Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo 90,000 euros.
