Promotion ends adaptation works station Sutullena Lorca (Murcia) for use by disabled (28/09/2009)

The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the general director of Infrastructure Operations, Miguel Angel Campos, this morning visited the works of their accessibility and suitability for use by disabled people in the station-Sutullena Lorca (Murcia) .

This action represents an investment of 450,000 euros and was completed earlier this month of September.

The aim of these actions is that the station Lorca-Sutullena improve the benefits they provide to customers ply their facilities.

The performances are part of a campaign launched by the Ministry of Works through Adif to facilitate accessibility and mobility for the various railway stations through the elimination of all types of architectural barriers that hinder the movement of people with disabilities.

In particular, the works have included the remodeling of existing platforms a step between today and placement of new stainless steel rails with dual handrails.

Has also performed the installation of two outdoor panoramic elevators that allow the sharing of platforms.

It has also been heightening the central platform to 68 inches above the height of the upper rail, allowing better access to trains, using as paving materials slip.

Finally, it has installed a new marquee on the central platform in order to provide protection to travelers.
