Morata 408 people competed in the Traverse Mountain Games (05/10/2009)

Meet the Games 31 years and 31 editions have appeared in the Traverse Mountain.

But despite the years, this competition is always offering numerous attractions and the best way to test is to browse the participation that took the test this past weekend, 408 people spread over 78 teams, 28 more than in 2008 , who left to nature to make a spectacular drive.

The Traverse City is experiencing a new youth, and much of the success is due to the organizing team, which came to be formed up to 60 people during the celebration of the test.

The village of Morata lorquina hosted this year's Traverse Mountain that, starting from the Casa del Fraile, are in for a tour in which more than ever, dominated the pure nature.

After several years without proof will be played in this part of Lorca, the change in the flora and fauna they appreciated the contestants was tremendous, since the regeneration of the area has been spectacular and the native life accompanied the passage of participants.

There were three categories qualified to compete, each with a distance adapted to the conditions of the equipment.

Thus, the simplest was the familiar test, about 6 miles, followed by the short test of 16 miles and the racing queen of 22 kilometers.

The Journey began at 21 am on Saturday, when participants set out to visit places as extraordinary as the Rambla de las Monjas, where pine trees became spectators luxury sports games.

During the tour, the components of the 78 participating teams had to adjust their walking pace to the characteristics of the land because, unlike most sports, does not win first come first or does the path to higher speed but showing a greater accuracy in travel time each way, trying to keep an even pace.

To do this, the most experienced calculated accurately at the time that they make delivery of the map, the distance to be covered, the difficulty of the journey and the pace at which to walk.

The finish line, also located in the Casa del Fraile, was the culmination of the test and obtaining a well deserved reward: hot chocolate and crumbs that were eaten by the participants.

After this refreshment, mounted tents to rest until, on Sunday afternoon, we proceeded to the awards ceremony and a luncheon after which again made clear that the most important thing is to participate in this test, make friends and have fun.

Note that none of the participating teams was lost during the test, although the latter who came to the finish they did just after 5 am.
