The Socialist Councillor Isabel Casalduero, lamented today the announcement of the end of the Lorca Rock Festival, in the words of its director, Marco Rubio, who has alleged, among other things, lack of support from the PP government team to carry out this important event.
The mayor called the news "sad" and "rebuke the world of culture" which blamed the Jódar Francisco mayor and then-councilman responsible for functions, Joaquin Ruiz Montalbán.
Casalduero said that the announcement "was more than expected" after the attitude "shameful" for municipal officials in the latest edition of the contest "that was clearly aimed at putting all possible obstacles in order to end the festival, and finally has happened. "
The Socialist councilor had an impact on the PP "did not stop until we have annihilated the Lorca Rock", a fact which he described as very serious, "especially when it was an internationally renowned festival, which this year had been awarded by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lorca for their work in favor of opening new avenues of tourism for the city. "
To Casalduero, it is unfortunate that popular leaders, demonstrating once again the lack of commitment to the culture of the city, and have put paid to this festival which also found favor from critics for its prestige and good do.
According to the mayor this stubbornness of popular leaders to end the Festival, makes clear "a lamentable lack of understanding of a way to understand the music and life itself."
