The Civil Guard recovers 3 classic motorcycles stolen and offered for sale on a web portal (18/02/2010)

The Civil Guard officers also seized 53 other classic motorcycle on which they are performing the appropriate steps.

In the course of a performance conducted late last week, agents of the Guardia Civil of posts Vera (Almería) and Aguilas (Murcia) proceeded to the arrest of Diego Miguel RL, 30, resident of Cuevas del Almanzora (Almería) and Antonio RL Clement, 34, residing in Lorca (Murcia), authors of a robbery and one receiving, respectively.

The arrests are the result of investigations conducted by the Guardia Civil following the theft, during the second half of last month, in the Andalusian village of Cuevas del Almanzora, four classic motorcycles, manufactured in the 60's.

The victim OSSA stole a motorcycle brand, model 160 Tourism BULTACO another brand, model Mercury 155, another brand ATES, 65 CC and a moped MOTOGUZZI, DINGO 49 CC model, valued at about € 4,000.

During its investigation, the Civil Guard officers conducted interviews with fans and connoisseurs of the world of old motorcycles, also making checks Internet sites dedicated to the sale of these vehicles.

As a result of this line of inquiry after a series of searches, the Guardia Civil detected in a well known website dedicated to buying and selling classic cars, three motorcycles identical to the stolen and offered for sale .

Following a series of checks, the Civil Guard officers were able to place these vehicles in the town of Lorca (Murcia), coordinated from the time their actions with agents of the Guardia Civil station de Aguilas (Murcia).

Focusing on business in the town of Lorca Murcia, the Civil Guard officers found two motorcycles appear on the Internet (Bultaco and cast), being the stolen, and proceeded to the arrest of Antonio Clemente RL suspicion of a crime receiving, telling investigators he had bought just days before three motorcycles in Cuevas del Almanzora (Almería) and sold one of them a resident of Orihuela (Alicante).

In this action the Civil Guard Clemente Antonio RL intervened a total of 53 classic motorcycles of various makes and models, while taking steps researchers around the vehicles.

Subsequent investigation by the Guardia Civil to the arrest of Diego Miguel RL, on suspicion of abduction and sale of motorcycles, besides contacting the person who had acquired the brand Ossa motorcycle which was recovered in the town of Orihuela ( Alicante).

The Guardia Civil investigation remains open, so are not ruled out further arrests related to the facts.

The proceedings initiated by the Civil Guard, along with the detainees, were made available to the Court of Instruction No. 2 Vera (Almería).
