Photo, exhibitions, poetry and an awareness campaign in schools in Lorca commemorate the Day of Working Women (03/03/2010)

The Councillor for Women's Hall of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, has been reported that the city council has prepared an extensive program of activities to commemorate the International Day of Working Women, held on 8 March.

Lopez Moya is anticipated that the menu designed for 2010 includes the celebration of traditional "Photo Contest on Women", which this year celebrates its 6 th edition.

At the same there have been a total of 27 collections, comprising 104 snapshots.

Of these 27, 20 are authors Lorca, while 6 from different parts of the region and the remainder comes from outside the region.

The mayor of Women has announced that to celebrate this remarkable event is planned to complete two artistic events.

It is, first, the exhibition "Artemujer", bringing together 27 collections and a total of 55 works.

Opening Thursday 4th and awards ceremony in until 19 March and Palacio de Guevara.

The show, "March 8, 8 eyes," which includes eight collections, including that of a male, is the second of the exhibitions planned for this year.

Opening March 8 at the Garden Ruano, Antonio Egea, Lourdes Fernández, Encarna Fernandez Rufete, Adela Garcia, Conny Hirle, Charo Martinez, Lola Navarro and Beatriz García Romero.

Young people with equal

Other activities to be performed is called "Youth with equality."

This is a series of initiatives undertaken by the students of schools who are responsible for a deepening of prominent women figure in the history of our country.

Already confirmed are 4 schools taking part in this initiative, as is the case of Andrés García Soler, Casa del Niño, José Robles and Sacred Heart of Jesus.

These centers are expected to add another to them over the next few days.

Also in the field of education will be held on Tuesday March 9 at Plaza Calderon at 9 and a half in the morning.

At the same have confirmed their participation centers Juan Gonzalez, San Francisco de Asis, Andrés García Soler, Centre for Local Development and Rural Schools grouped.

And it is expected that more schools are confirmed in the coming days.

Women's Word

The program designed by the council of the Municipal Women's Consistory also contemplates holding a poetry recital, entitled "Women's Word.

This is an activity that has the support of Espartaria poetical, and to be held at the Cultural Center of the city next March 9 beginning at 7 pm.
