A pilgrimage on foot and by bicycle Lorca and Caravaca unite to mark the Jubilee Holy Year 2010 (11/03/2010)

The mayor of Sports City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel this morning at a press conference the pilgrimage Lorca - Caravaca, to mark the Jubilee Holy Year 2010, to be held the weekend of the festival of San José, with participants the option of either walking or cycling.

The event has been attended by representatives of the Association Lorca - Santiago, Speleological Group of Senderista Club Lorca and "The Carrasca", who work in organizing the event along with the Department of Sports, through the Municipal Institute and Games Sports (IMJUDE).

Montiel has emphasized that "walking tour will begin on March 19 from the Church of Santiago completing the first stage in the hamlet of Palm Zarcilla, the second in La Almudena, to end the day 21 in Caravaca, having made a path of 67 kilometers.

The fee is 75 euros per person, with the deadline for booking on 15 March. "

"The mountain bike track will be made in one day, namely Sunday March 21, leaving the cyclists from our city at 07:00 hours, covering a route of 70 kilometers, passing through the Swamp of Bridges Zarcilla de Ramos, La Almudena and Caravaca.

Registration for this discipline will be 10 euros, "added the councilman.

The development of the pilgrimage on foot, it will take in three stages, with the following paths:

(Lorca - Palm Zarcilla) 07:00 pm - 30 km

(Zarcilla de Ramos - La Almudena) 09:00 pm - 22 km

(La Almudena - Caravaca) 09:00 hours - 15 miles

While the mountain bike route will be developed in a single day with the following route:

19-03 (Lorca - Caravaca) 07:00 pm - 70 km (Lorca-Zarcilla Bridges Swamp Palm-La Almudena-Caravaca)
