The inhabitants of the districts high Lorca today have a more eco-park near their homes (24/03/2010)

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Director General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control from the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Francisco José Espejo, this morning signed an agreement whereby the Regional Government gave the City lorquino the ecopark located in the hamlet of Coy, whose works have just completed.

"

This new eco-park, in addition to an existing Waste Management Centre of Barranco Hondo, through a project financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union for the operating period 2007-2013, and has built on municipal land.

The creation of the Clean Point prevent the uncontrolled disposal of waste from large size, allow the use of materials that can be recycled directly, reducing waste and saving raw materials and hazardous waste separate from other waste, avoiding damage to various recycling centers or in wastewater treatment plants.

In this eco-park will also establish a point of information and environmental education for all citizens, especially younger ones, thanks to its facilities including classrooms.

This new infrastructure, which represents an investment of 208,797 euros from the Autonomous Community, will allow us to meet European guidelines on collection, recycling, reuse and recovery of waste.

Lorca City Council also has a mobile recycling center, which includes oil, appliances, furniture and other waste in the districts and neighborhoods.
