90 participants in the pilgrimage by bike to Caravaca de la Cruz (19/04/2010)

Despite the threat of rain and overcast sky in the morning last Saturday made the pilgrimage by bike to Caravaca de la Cruz, scheduled for March 7 and was delayed by bad weather.

At 07:00 in the Sports Complex parking was carried out verifications of signatures, after which the rider started firing towards the Marsh Bridge by river.

From here we went, among other places by House Beautiful Breads and Canada, reaching Zarcilla de Ramos and La Paca, the site of the well-deserved refreshment, which allowed the group to regain strength and power and face the second part of the stage.

Direction was taken Doña Inés, and the height of Ballesteros took the forest track of The Pool, which certainly turned out to be the most demanding leg, and a dozen cyclists were forced to set foot on earth and have to abandon, most of them caused by problems with his bike changes, in turn caused by the mud that was adhering to the wheel and made it impossible to continue pedaling.

Saved this obstacle, the rider reaches the Incarnation, and from here, another forest track in excellent condition, came to the town of Caravaca de la Cruz, where the platoon, escorted by the Guardia Civil, reached the final destination: the Shrine La Vera Cruz.

Without a doubt, one of the longest stages, demanding and rugged, yet one of the most beautiful and spectacular stages, both the circuit and by the greenery and beauty of the landscape.

At the end of the stage, all participants received the corresponding diploma certifying their pilgrimage.

Among them, mention the presence of Mayor D.

Jódar Francisco Alonso, who managed to complete the entire route, proving to be in great shape.

This activity is included in the Bike and Nature Programme 2010 organized by the Municipal Sports and Games in collaboration with the Association Lorca James, who once again made a perfect work of control and assistance of the pack rider.

The fourth route of the program is on Sunday April 25 and runs between the hamlets of Zarpadilla Lorca and Totana Coy.

Entries can now be done in the offices of IMJU.DE.
