The Director General of Tourism, Marina García, today chaired the ceremony of the plate 'Q for Quality' at Hotel de Lorca Amalthea to ensure optimum levels of service quality, infrastructure and equipment.
During his speech, Garcia congratulated the staff and the heads of the establishment for having made it in the first local hotel to receive this mark.
In total he recalled the general manager, "the town of Lorca already has nine stores certificates, including the addition of Hotel Amalthea is a travel agency, four rural accommodation, two restaurants and a tourist office."
With this addition, Lorca has established itself as the third city of the region in number of certificates, only behind Murcia, who is 27, and Cartagena, which has 24.
"This situation" - said Garcia - "must be a incentive to maintain consistency in the improvement of tourist services and the positioning of the target as a major regional tourist resorts."
The ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Manuel Jodar and Baron, president of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) in its regional delegation.
The Murcia region currently, with 112 certified establishments and public entities with the 'Q for Quality', which makes it the eighth region of Spain in the number of certificates.
