The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, has reported that "Local Government gives a very important step today in response to a historical demand of the educational community in the municipality."
The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, reported this morning that the Local Government Board this morning approved the transfer to the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Region of a municipal plot of 2,710 m2, close to campus for construction of a new building for the Official Language School.
Peñarrubia stressed that "this agreement is an important step to achieving a historic claim to the educational community of the municipality."
In this way, the City serves the request of land that the Regional Government tabled on 27 May that aims to respond to the request of the Consistory.
The Councillor for Education stressed that "this assignment is to link the official language studies with the university to be launched this September in the former headquarters Sancho Dávila, as has been done with the Integrated Training Center. Similarly, contributes to a significant expansion of core educational services, made up of the new school being built, the school Juan Gonzalez, FP Centre, the campus and now the new School of Languages.
"Undoubtedly, this comprehensive education complex will help stimulate the urban environment and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Lorca, but especially in the neighborhoods of San Cristobal, San Diego, Los Angeles, Apollonia and the armed forces" stressed.
José Joaquín Peñarrubia explained that "the new building will be built for the future, with the perspective on expanding the number of languages and places which are now being taught."
The Councillor for Education has expressed his satisfaction with the sensitivity of the Regional Government with Lorca, which has had a swift response from City Hall.
