The Secretary of the Local Government of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, has reported that JGL this morning approved the creation of a "Committee on Expenditure Management and Control."
Peñarrubia explained that within the implementation of austerity measures that have already been announced is the creation of this Commission to report on applications for approval of expenditure of various business councils and prior to the implementation process, after proper credit reserve budget.
Peñarrubia has indicated that the committee will meet weekly, in principle every Monday, and will examine about applications for approval of expenditure of autonomous agencies, councils and services provided, reporting favorably or unfavorably on them, depending on economic and budgetary criteria.
The said committee will be chaired by the Mayor, and will be part of it by the Deputy Mayor of Finance, the Deputy Mayor of Internal Affairs and the Director of Budget Office and the Comptroller General of the City as a backup in counseling technical.
They may also attend the meeting the councilors and officials appointed by the Mayor where deemed necessary.
The Secretary of the JGL has said that the economic situation of the City, and the significant drop in income is caused by the economic crisis have forced the government team to the adoption of a series of measures to save and that will concentrate the economic effort and centralize decision-making.
