The Councilman of Emergencies of the City council of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, closed yesterday the course that has been realized during the days 12, 13 and 14 of June in the room of exhibitions of the House of the White Step, which credits to non-sanitary personnel in the use of defibrillators.
Juan Miguel Bayonas has indicated that "this training, given by staff of the Department of Emergencies and the Civil Protection team of Lorca, has been composed of a course of 12 hours in which participants are trained to act with the Basic means and know how to use the defibrillator To obtain the accreditation the assistants have to overcome a theoretical and practical evaluation ".
The Councilor for Emergencies added that "among other issues, the staff of the brotherhood has been trained, in addition to the maneuver of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of DESA, in knowing how to act in case of having to place a person in position lateral security or how to correctly perform the famous Heimlich maneuver to resolve choking, and all these techniques have not only learned to perform them in adults but also in children and infants.
Bayonas stressed "the importance of knowing how to function in a situation like a cardiac arrest and know how to correctly perform all the steps of the survival chain until the arrival of health teams." I want to thank the members of MUBBLA for having used their time to train to save lives since, thanks to its commitment, the MUBBLA will be, along with the next acquisition of a Semi-Automatic External Defibrillator, the first cardioprotected museum in the city of Lorca, with what this entails throughout the year but especially in Easter since, the Monumental Complex of Santo Domingo, is one of the points with the most public at this important date for our municipality.
The Edil de Emergencias, finally, recalled that "today is evidence that the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed in a subject with cardiorespiratory arrest represent a 40% increase in the probability of survival, which is why the population" not health "must become aware that knowing this technique, or other basic outreach to lay staff, provides them with knowledge with which to act correctly to a victim suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest, significantly increasing the survival of these victims."
