This body, launched in June 2014, has managed to rescue for all citizens a total amount of 17.63 million euros.
The data for the first half of this year improve by 300,000 euros those obtained in the same period of the previous year.
The Councilor for Economy and Finance in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, reported that the City Council, thanks to the work developed by the Local Tax Agency, has managed to recover for the municipal coffers during the first half of the year a quantity total of 2,226,953.48 euros, which represents an increase close to 300,000 euros compared to the same period of the previous year.
The ATL, created 4 years ago by this Municipal Executive, has managed to recover for Lorca 17.63 million euros, amount accrued by taxpayers who, despite having financial solvency, had become almost perpetual delinquents. We are talking about rescuing for the Lorca economic resources to protect the rights of taxpayers and prevent tax fraud, a work that has been developed by the City Council to attack the large fraud bags that were detected by the economic team of the City.
The work of the ATL, as already indicated since its formation, is to eliminate the bags of fraud and systematic non-payment of taxes that had been detected by municipal officials.
It is, in almost all cases, companies or individuals who have the ability and proven financial solvency to meet the payment of their taxes, they were not doing so, that is, amounts accrued by taxpayers who had become delinquent almost perpetual with the administration.
The amount collected in favor of Lorca mainly includes the sum of two sections.
The first of them corresponds to the actions of verification, inspection and tax procedures, derived mainly from non-payment by legal entities of the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE), Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO), as well as other issues such as false vados for vehicles, rate of issuance of works license and rate of 1.5%.
The existing debts for the systematic non-payment of these taxes as well as their corresponding interests have been preserved for the Lorca coffers.
Martínez added that as for, the second section refers to collection management in the executive period.
We are talking about an amount derived from debts provided for by the collection of which the ATL is coordinated with the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia (ATRM).
It is also about income that was pending in the vast majority of cases by companies, constituting a parcel of delinquency that must be ordered by a principle of equality and justice with Lorca taxpayers.
El Edil de Hacienda has indicated that the approval to create this organism goes back to the municipal plenary session celebrated in the month of July of the year 2013, entering into full operation as such on June 1, 2014, having managed to recover since then 17.63 million of euros for the coffers of Lorca.
This body of tax management, whose work action is summarized in the slogan "If we all collaborate, we will pay less and we will have better services", has also managed to improve the delinquency rate by 30%.
Juan Francisco Martínez, also, recalled that from the City Council we established specific formulas for the payment of taxes, such as the Personalized Tax Plan, as well as payment facilities (debt splitting, postponement thereof, ...), of which They have benefited thousands of citizens.
The Local Tax Agency protects the rights of Lorca, since what can not be is to enjoy public services without contributing to citizens.
We are talking about a basic principle of solidarity among Lorca.
It is unacceptable that while the immense majority complies, striving to contribute, there are some who act in an unsupportive and uncivil way with their own neighbors.
Another judicial sentence forces Lorca to pay € 144,000 for undue expropriations made in 2003 to obtain real estate in the former convent of La Merced
El Edil de Economía reported that, while progress is being made to improve the economic health of the City Council, new blows continue to fall against the municipality, taking as a more recent example a new judicial conviction derived from improper procedures carried out by a previous administration in the year 2003. This is, in this case, expropriations executed to obtain real estate in the area of ​​the former convent of La Merced that did not follow the regulated channel, and for which all Lorca will have to pay 144,000 euros, an amount that adds to another 335,000 euros that had to assume a few months ago the current Municipal Administration derived from this same type of error in the aforementioned place.
