The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has once again shown his concern about the inexplicable slowness and paralysis that affects the Central Evacuation Round project, especially with regard to sections 1 and 3. The concern continues to advance as these files remain unresolved while the deadline to justify the completion of these works, which Europe marks in December 2019.
Section I, amounting to 6.6 million euros, has been paralyzed since last summer.
After a long process of more than 15 months, the works were halted a month after the start, due to the modification of the layout that will affect the passage of the AVE.
To this day, Mateos warns, it is still unknown where he is and what technical solution they intend to give, so he asks that "whatever it is" be adopted as soon as possible so as not to jeopardize the financing of this section.
Mateos warns that, taking into account that the execution period is around 12 months, the risk is more than evident.
As for section 3, assures Mateos, it is the one that "worries the most".
This is the section affected by the controversy of the Puente de la Torta, and asks Gil Jódar to clarify whether or not there will be a citizen consultation, as he promised to do.
While the technical solution is still pending, the processing of the file is still not started so it warns that "they are late".
Section 2, the one that crosses the river Guadalentín, has been awarded "finally" after two years of administrative processing.
Mateos celebrates this good news and asks that the works be started as soon as possible.
However, Mateos has again insisted that the Central Round "should have been completed long before starting projects such as Juan Carlos Avenue or Alameda de Cervantes", so that citizens have an alternative way to circulate without need to go jumping from work to work.
The case of the Central Round is the most "evident" proof of the null planning that the Popular Party has made of the works in Lorca, completely "a salto de mata".
Mateos asks Gil Jódar to focus on resolving the paralysis that affects the pending sections of the Central Round because Lorca can not afford to put this "crucial" project at risk for the structuring of the city, which must also connect with the solution, still pending, to the "bottleneck" that is still generated, daily, at the entrance to Lorca by San Antonio.
