The City Council unblocks the situation and is already working on new measures to improve Lorca coves at the proposal of neighbors, such as the marking and ordering of existing parking areas.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has ordered the municipal services to proceed with the immediate elimination of the current agreement with the CARM on the control of the passage of vehicles to the Lorca beaches, proceeding to the establishment of a new system that It responds to both the needs of the residents of the area and its users, who, precisely during the summer, come to enjoy the extraordinary environment offered by the coves located within the Calnegre Natural Park.
The First Edil has anticipated that today the municipal legal services are already proceeding to the rescission of the aforementioned text, to change the established system as soon as possible, as Fulgencio Gil agreed in the meeting held with the residents of the area yesterday afternoon.
In this way, the situation is unblocked and solved, this meeting serving to gather new proposals for improvement for the area raised by citizens, as is the case of the marking and delimitation of existing parking areas in the coves of the Natural Park , a measure that will contribute to implement the safety and order of the mentioned beaches.
It is also working on the study of a hypothetical expansion of the number of existing parking spaces, whose number is estimated at 90. This aspect is more restricted, taking into account the special measures established by the Law in the area, and which is inside a specially protected Natural Park, and you can not destroy natural elements of the Park to park cars.
The new system, in any case, will ensure the safety of the users of the Lorca beaches, with special mention to the access of emergency vehicles, which must have a clear and free passage to attend any eventuality that may arise, as it happened, for example, the year passed when there was a fire in this area.
The Mayor has stressed that you always have to distinguish between petitions and proposals that have been raised by neighbors and registered vandalism attacks, before which the City Council calls for citizen collaboration to detect people who they have comitted.
Fulgencio Gil has stressed that the Municipal Executive always works under a premise of consensus and flexibility, and if a system gives problems, it is restated and changed, since in this case the priority issues are to protect the natural values ​​of the park and the access to emergency services so that they can intervene with the required readiness before any type of incident.
