The Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas recalled this morning that, until next Thursday, August 2, is open the registration period for the XV Popular Race 'Fiestas del Campillo' scheduled for Sunday, 5 August, for all those lovers of popular races who do not want to miss this new test included in the 17th Local Circuit 2017/18 of Carreras Populares.
Bayonas has detailed that this test will have the exit and the goal in the Festival Venue, located next to the Parish Church of Campillo and the scheduled departure time will be at 9:30 am.
It will be played in the long race, with a total distance of 5,400 meters, which includes the absolute category: cadets, junior, junior, promises, senior and veterans.
There will also be a race for the ages of juvenile and infantile (1,330 meters), benjamín and prebenjamín (700 meters) both male and female, and for the petate category (70 meters).
Registration can be made until Thursday, August 2, at 2:00 pm through the web www.asuspuestos.com in the section enabled for it (http://asuspuestos.com/evento/xv-carrera-popular-fiestas -de-campillo-lorca).
The registration fee is 2 euros, except for the petates category, which is free.
There will be trophies for the first three classified in each category and medals for all participants in the category mat, in addition to showers in the changing rooms of the College of Campillo, about 400 meters from the finish area.
In this test, organized by the Department of Sports of Lorca, collaborate the General Directorate of Sports, the Department of Emergency Lorca, the Neighborhood Association of Campillo, Local Police Lorca and Spanish Red Cross.
Bayonas has reminded the winners of the last five editions of the Long Run of the 'Fiestas del Campillo', the runner Lucio José Martínez Montero took the victory in 2013 with a time of 17'47 '', Alejandro Abellaneda López did the same two consecutive years, in 2014 with a mark of 19'18 '' and in 2015 of 19'15 ''.
In 2016, Álvaro Martínez García won with a time of 18'33 '', and in the last edition, in 2018, the winner was the athlete Mario Molina Salas with a mark of 19'11 ''.
In the Infant and Fry category, Sergio Hitos Campos was the winner in 2013 (05'09''), Andrés Palma Ortiz in 2014 (04'49''), in 2015 María del Mar García Pérez (05'47'') , 2016 Jorge Salas Fuentes (06'07'') and in 2017 the winner of this category was Adrián Sánchez Vicente (05'13 ''), while in category benjamín and prebenjamín Hugo Martín Martín won in 2013 (02'40' '), Daniel Budesca López in 2014 (02'44''), Wiam Ghanemi Ghanemi in 2015 (02'56''), in 2016 Blanca Martínez Moya (03'31'') and in 2017 Fátima Hernández Bogao (02') 55 '').
