Summer is one of the best times of the year to stay up late and contemplate the celestial vault in all its splendor.
And what better place to do it than in the Castle of Lorca, an incomparable enclave.
In August one of the most anticipated astronomical phenomena of the year takes place: the shower of stars popularly known as tears of San Lorenzo for coinciding the dates of the event with the day of the saint's martyrdom.
This year La Fortaleza del Sol has prepared a special program for all audiences with the aim that you can fully enjoy the shower of stars, whose high point is foreseen this time for the 9th of August.
The opening of doors will be around 8:30 p.m. and the activities begin at 9:00 p.m. with a storyteller aimed at the youngest children by Belen Sánchez Luengo.
Later there will be poetry reading by Charo García Baño and Emilio Tomás in the area of the Caballerizas del Castillo.
About 23:00 h will start the astronomical observation with an explanation of the celestial vault by the Astronomical Association of Murcia.
To close the evening, from 24: 00h on the Tendal of the esplanade of the Joaquin Talisman Castle will give a concert in acoustic.
