Mateos ensures that the granting of municipal aid for the organization of the parties "can not continue at the mercy of the decision of the Mayor or the councilor on duty, personal preferences of these or the electoral expectations they have regarding those neighborhoods and districts. "
"We must lay a foundation to specify and rationalize the aid that is granted and put an end to the discrimination that exists between some districts and others"
The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has announced that they will propose a motion to the next plenary session with which they will request the creation of regulatory bases to specify a series of "objective" criteria so that the neighborhood associations and / or the commissions of parties in neighborhoods and districts know what they can apply for in order to apply for the subsidies granted by the consistory to help in the organization of popular festivals.
Mateos raises this motion in response to a widespread complaint, which is increasingly common among neighborhoods and districts, due to the lack of stable support that gives security to neighbors when organizing their popular festivities.
Ensures that this "uncertainty" is what puts, to a greater extent, at risk the possibility of maintaining traditional parties in neighborhoods and districts.
Mateos assures that the granting of these grants "can not continue at the discretion of the personal decision of the Mayor or the councilor of the celebrations of the day, of their personal preferences or directly of the electoral expectations that they have regarding some districts or other".
In fact, he assures that as it happens by the lack of an objective regulation at the time of granting this aid "there are districts that do not receive a cent from the Town Hall, and others that even assuring them a certain collaboration are left without it".
"What can not be is that some districts are guaranteed virtually everything, and for others not even the bus is paid to transport the Municipal Band of music."
Besides to end the discrimination that exists between some districts and others, Mateos ensures that these bases would provide "certainty and security" to the collectives, to know what kind of parties they can organize, based on the help they would get.
The Socialist Spokesman recalls that these groups are the ones who, in the end, have to face their own neighbors, the artists or groups they hire, or the suppliers and entrepreneurs, so they need measures to remedy the uncertainty that they face. generates that "lack of commitment of the City of Lorca" since "rarely do they know what they can get or what help they will have from the town hall".
In fact, these situations make it the neighbors themselves who have to advance the cost of the organization, waiting for if what they promised finally is granted and paid.
The duration of the parties, the age of the parties or the existence of support, to a greater or lesser extent by the business sector of each neighborhood or parish could be "objective" criteria on which to base when requesting and granting this type of subsidies.
