The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, together with the Councilor for Youth, Celebrations, Culture and Historical Heritage of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, today presented this initiative that will be launched during the Lorca 2018 Fair.
Various information points will be installed at the midday fair and at the evening fair, with the distribution of information and 'merchandising' allusive to the campaign.
These points will be attended by a group of young volunteers, trained in the courses of free time instructors offered by the Community.
Volunteers will spread this campaign to the rest of the youngsters "to remind us that we should enjoy a fair in which there is zero percent assault, zero percent harassment and one hundred percent respect so that these parties are a fun space in positive ", stressed the counselor.
A total of 360 young people are trained as free time monitors and obtain an official degree with the launching for the second year of the 'I Am Monitor' initiative, which takes place in 14 municipalities in collaboration with the Youth Councils of the municipalities participate and with the staff of the animation and education schools in free time.
In total, there are twelve courses that are taught until the end of the year, with a duration of 250 hours, 160 theoretical and 90 practical.
The municipalities that offer these courses are Lorca, where it took place during the summer months, Calasparra, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Abanilla, Fortuna, Los Alcázares, Puerto Lumbreras, San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Yecla, Totana, Mazarrón and Murcia.
The counselor stressed that "this initiative responds to the high interest among young people in the region of exercising as a monitor in free time activities organized for children and young people."
Thanks to her, he added, "the price of free-time instructor courses is reduced and the participation and access of young people to highly demanded quality training is encouraged, as well as the work of animation and education schools. in free time and the promotion of training activities in the municipalities ".
The 'Soy Monitor' initiative allows the prices of these training actions to be reduced to a maximum of 90 euros compared to the 350 euros they had to pay before the Community launched this proposal, two years ago.
