The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has completed the complete renovation of the Diego Pallarés Cacha de Lorca Pediatric Park, which includes seven playgrounds for children up to 12 years old.
The new recreation area has meant a regional investment of 380,000 euros and covers a perimeter of 8,340 square meters.
The action included the paving of all the main streets of the park to avoid inconveniences to users on rainy and windy days.
The general secretary of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, Yolanda Muñoz, and the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, opened the park today and stressed that this work is included in the urban renewal of the neighborhoods, to which this year the Regional Executive it allocates 22 of the 60 million euros that will be invested in the reconstruction of Lorca in 2018.
"In addition to the urban renewal of neighborhoods and the improvement of roads, we want to provide the city with recreational and leisure areas where children and adults can enjoy with safety, accessibility and comfort," said Yolanda Muñoz.
Modern, accessible and efficient
The action included a change in the design of the lake with different areas of waterfalls and the renovation of the central fountain avoiding the sharp edges.
The current perimeter fence of the park has also been completely repainted and the canteen has been modernized, incorporating toilets adapted for people with reduced mobility.
The action includes the renovation of 40 street lighting fixtures with low consumption led, the installation of benches, picnic tables and drinking fountains.
The stormwater network has also been completely renovated, which will prevent water stagnation.
