Diego José Mateos warns that the works began in January, with a term of 8 months and today has not yet begun phase 3 of the 4 planned.
While the works are still paralyzed, access to the castle and National Parador from San José is impracticable, presenting for several days a dangerous state for vehicles
The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has denounced the delay that accumulate the works of access to the Castle of Lorca and to improve the connection with the southern area of the city.
While the works are still paralyzed, the access to the fortress and the National Parador from San José "is completely impracticable, presenting a dangerous state for the vehicles".
Mateos denounces that these works, which began last January, are paralyzed.
These works, which have a term of eight months, still do not progress, pending the start of phase three of the four planned.
The Socialist Spokesperson recalled that the contract for the works was signed in October 2017 and already started with problems due to mistakes made in the project, since part of the works had to be delayed "because the works began without having the necessary lands since they were the property of the State and not of the Town Hall ".
Mateos assures that this error has meant that of the four phases planned, the first would be the consolidation of the northern slope by a landslide, the second the consolidation of the existing slopes with a mesh, the third the improvement of southern access by San José and Murviedro and a fourth that would be the refurbishment of the existing road, "only the first two have been made" pending the start of the third, despite having passed the period of 8 months has not started the third.
Precisely this third, the improvement of southern access by San José-Murviedro, "is almost unused for days since the road is impassable for vehicles and even dangerous for road traffic, especially motorcycles and bicycles due to deep undulations and potholes that can be observed. "
Mateos regrets that Lorca are facing another example of poor management and planning of the works as, one more, is assuming a new delay and failure to comply with the deadlines for the works.
For this reason, Mateos has demanded that they be retaken "with greater speed and the southern access for San José-Murviedro is conditioned while the works are carried out".
In this sense, and being some works whose execution depends on the Regional Government, Mateos hopes that the Mayor is so demanding with the Autonomous Community to accelerate this project, as it is being lately with the Government of Spain.
