The students of 4th grade of this educational center Lorca have spent the morning with the members of the Association helping them at the petitionary table of the Alameda de Las Columnas, Oval and Corredera and distributing informative documentation on the disease
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, together with the president of the Alzheimer Association Lorca, Inés Martínez, attended this morning the petition table installed in the Alameda de la Constitución on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day, which is celebrated on the 21st September and that this year carries the motto "Alzheimer's Social Science".
In this table information and informative documentation has been offered with the purpose of raising awareness in society about the issues surrounding this disease.
The volunteers of the same have been collecting small economic contributions in exchange for a solidarity sticker to show their interest and concern for all people affected by this degenerative disease such as Alzheimer's.
Fulgencio Gil has reported that "the Alzheimer's Association of Lorca is doing an excellent job, so I encourage all those who go through the Alameda de la Constitución to do their bit, because with a small gesture can have many resources to help both the sick and their families.It should be noted that from the administrations we have to make the population aware of the many cares that Alzheimer's patients need and therefore, the Lorca association is leaving the skin for the benefit of the sick people and families. "
The Mayor of Lorca said that "in addition, this year the Association has had some very special volunteers: the students of 4th grade of San Cristóbal School, who spent the morning with the members of the Association helping them at the table petition of the Alameda de Las Columnas, Oval and Corredera.The children are part of a socio-educational program launched by this center Lorca with the aim of schoolchildren acquire awareness of Alzheimer's disease as well as other social aspects to promote the volunteering".
Gil also said that "Alzheimer's patients need special and special attention, something that their own families also need.Lorca has magnificent facilities where sick people and families can go.The center serves more than 40 users in issues such as therapeutic activities, psychostimulation workshops, support activities and home rehabilitation, as well as individual therapies, group work and training workshops, due to its good functioning, there are more and more requests and therefore the work of expanding places are continuous " .
