The disastrous economic management of Mayor Gil Jódar and his councilor for Economy and Finance led the City Council to stop collecting nearly 30 million euros over the previous year.

The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Isidro Abellán has valued the General Account of 2017 that the PP presents today in the Plenary of Lorca.
The socialist mayor has revealed that "the accounts of the previous year violate the Budget Stability Principle, so that the Budget Stability and Financial Sustainability Act of 2012, would oblige this city to prepare a new Economic-Financial Plan, which today they have not elaborated. "
This situation forces the PSOE not to approve the result of these accounts, and for those who have demanded the PP explanations in plenary.
Abellán assures that this General Account reflects that the management of this city council "is going to worse", and that the work of government of the PP "is completely exhausted".
Abellán recalled that due to the economic management of the PP "this city is subject today to two plans for sanitation, the 2012, of 10 years, which was approved to access the loan for payment to suppliers, and the one of April of 2017, to 5 years, and that was approved to be able to increase the lack of the loans of this city council ".

Isidro Abellán recalled that the sanitation plan approved last year forced to close the year 2017 with a Remainder of Treasury of -6.3 million euros and closed it above the 7 million negative.
In fact, says Abellán, the Ministry of Finance has already issued a first warning to this City Council, since due to its negligent economic management, "the PP is mortgaging and endangering the management of future governments."
Abellán assures that it will have to be a socialist government who, starting next year, will resolve the situation they are facing in this municipality. "Abellán has blamed the poor economic management being done to the Mayor for giving" too many powers to a councilor (the Economy) that is not being able to take them forward. "

Abellán has demanded the councilor of Finance to clarify why this municipality collected in 2017 about 30 million euros less than in 2016. In 2016 the net collection of this municipality was 98.3 million euros, that supposed a collection of 76% of the Budgetary Forecast.
However, in 2017, the net collection of the municipality was 68.9 million euros, which has accounted for only 62% of the Budgetary Forecast.
"A very worrying fact" points.
As reflected in the general account, the management of the PP has reduced the revenue of this municipality by more than 14%, which translated into euros is 29.4 million euros less.
As a counterpart, he points out, the payments made, which have only increased by 4.4 million euros in 2017 with respect to 2016. "And that, for example, the collection for traffic fines increased 200,000.- € with respect to to 2016, almost 40% more than the previous year, "he adds.

Abellán has demanded in the Plenary to the Councilor of Finance that "stop lying or resign" regarding the data that the Popular Party has been offering in relation to municipal debt.
The General Account presented today expressly states that "the bank debt with which 2017 closes amounts to 41.4 million euros, a figure that coincides with that offered by the Ministry's website".
However, on January 24 of this year we listened to the mayor say that the municipal debt had been reduced to 49.3 million euros.

Abellán says that this "dance of figures" shows that the PP "gives figures to give" and that "they do not even have a clue as to what the municipal debt is".
Abellán requires the councilor of the Treasury to show, if he has one, the supposed 2008 audit and to say who did it, who paid it and how it was paid.

Abellán has demanded the mayor and the councilor of finance to provide official data "if they have" to show that the municipal debt in 2008 amounted to 105 million euros.
Since the councilor of the Treasury and the Mayor in his interventions of an economic nature always base this figure of 105 million on an audit conducted in 2008, Abellán has demanded Martínez Carrasco to make public the aforementioned audit carried out in 2008, which will make it reach the different municipal groups, and who says who carried out this audit, who paid it and how it was paid.
If they are not able to provide this documentation, from the PSOE they will understand that this PP government team is only deliberately lying to all the citizens of Lorca.
"As they do not provide the required data soon, we will not hesitate to formally request the resignation of both the Mayor and the Councilor of Finance for lying premeditatedly to all Lorca."
