When you think about Guadalentín Sports Games there are a few activities that instantly come to mind.
And one of them is the Ruta Senderista al Cejo, which every year gathers hundreds of hiking enthusiasts to walk together to one of the most beautiful places in the beautiful natural landscape of Lorca.
This Sunday came the long-awaited appointment within the agenda of the 40 Guadalentín Sports Games that offers a unique journey towards the Cejo de los Enamorados, in a group and at a moderate pace so that everyone can enjoy the route and take good note to repeat it when you want.
We must remember that the route proposed by the Lorca Olympics is not the one traditionally frequented by Lorca athletes who love nature, with departure and arrival from Los Pilones.
To avoid the discomfort of such a large group crossing, the appointment of the Games takes place through a circular route that runs through both the nature and the history of this municipality.
The activity, organized by the Department of Sports and the Club Senderista La Carrasca, met on Sunday morning 654 walkers who gathered in La Merced to take part in the route.
At 9.30 am the group that took the bank left to enter the Guadalentín channel.
Further on, the road to La Parroquia was crossed, from where it began to ascend, crossing, among other places, that of La Quintilla, settlement of the Roman Empire.
After the ascent in the Cejo de los Enamorados, and after drinking from its source and recovering strength, we started our way back through the traditional path, crossing viewpoints and narrow bridges, in addition to the stairs that would mark the last meters of the test. .
Arrived at Los Pilones the march was dissolved, each one returning home by the road that best came after having traveled there, next to the climb to the Castle, about 12 kilometers.
It was therefore a complete morning of exercise through a green lung of enormous value that is also just a few minutes from the center of Lorca, which is a huge privilege for all its neighbors.
