On December 15 and 16, Amata artisans' association will come to San Fulgencio to set up an authentic craft fair in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, offering people who live in the south of the province of Alicante an opportunity to find some very special gifts. original and handmade for the Christmas holidays.
Amata specializes in authentic craftsmanship.
It does not admit factory or import products in its fairs;
everything is handmade by the same participants.
In addition, the organizers will try to make each stand offer something different, so you can find original gifts for all your loved ones.
There will be funny figurines made of acorns representing a trade or hobby;
boots and colorful shoes for young and old;
shawls and hand-woven wool garments;
bags and backpacks made of cloth, hand-painted;
furniture and ornaments of recycled wood;
ceramics;
patchwork;
crochet animals;
crystal engraved in the act with name, initials or drawings and own design jewelry in various materials.
And, since they are all authentic craftsmen, they will bring their tools and can accept special orders if you do not find what you are looking for.
Lately there are less and less handmade things in the fairs or medieval markets although they are advertised with the word crafts.
For this reason, Amata has registered the phrase Artesanía de Autor® and uses it to indicate that at its fairs the author of the products is present.
And at this fair in San Fulgencio, some are not only present, but they will also be working in their trade: the weaver in her loom, the potter around her offering the public the possibility of making her own bowl or glass.
Others will be modeling clay, cutting leather to make shoes or polishing jewelry.
There will be background music and the stalls will be decorated to create a truly Christmas atmosphere;
children can make their own gifts in the workshops, there are board games and a mythological carousel.

all to ensure that children have fun when parents walk around the stalls or have a drink on the terrace of the bar.
The fair will be mounted around the town hall square (Plaza de la Constitución).
The city council has organized a bus service between the town and the Marina urbanization to encourage all the residents of the municipality to come to the fair, without parking problems.
Both Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December the fair opens at 11 in the morning and does not close at noon.
On Saturday the closing is scheduled for 9 pm, Sunday will close somewhat earlier.
