While the Christmas lights in the city of Lorca will be this Friday, December 7, the Popular Party confirms the discrimination it maintains towards the districts delaying the arrival of Christmas lights a week later, as stated in the specifications signed with the responsible company.
The lighting in the districts will not come until the week of December 18 to 20.
"If I am elected Mayor there will be no discrimination between the city and the districts: the lighting of the lights will be the same day in the entire municipal area," says Mateos.
The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos denounces that the Popular Party maintain its discrimination towards the districts of Lorca to the point that the Christmas lighting "will not reach the neighbors of the districts until the week of December 18 to 20, more a week after he does it in the city. "
The Socialist councilor has shown his perplexity and asks the PP government team: "What are the technical criteria on which the Mayor is based to decide that Christmas will arrive on December 7 to the city and between the 18 and 20 of December to the districts? "
This is stated in the specifications of the contract signed by the City of Lorca with the company responsible for Christmas lighting, which confirms that the Popular Party has intentionally hired, a week later, the lighting of the Christmas lights for the districts, showing like this, "without any qualms that for the Popular Party the city is first, and then there are the districts".
Mateos has shown his outrage because "the residents of the districts are fed up with the fact that their City Council, since the PP is in, discriminates between first and second neighbors, but only when it comes to managing public services, when it comes to charging taxes there are all the same ".
Diego José Mateos has said that "the PP has been seven years putting the excuse that we had to dump all efforts in the city after the misfortune of earthquakes," when the reality, he insists, is that "for the PP the districts are in a second plane. "
"In the electoral year in which the PP remembers to triple the investment in Christmas lights, paradoxically this increase contemplates that the Christmas lights in the districts arrive later than in the city"
Diego José Mateos is committed to the next Christmas, with him as Mayor of Lorca, the Christmas lights will come "without discrimination between Lorca first and Lorca second."
"The Christmas lighting will reach all citizens of Lorca on the same day, regardless of where they reside."
