The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, has announced that the Cultural Center Mayor José María Campoy Camacho will host from this Monday 17th and throughout Christmas the exhibition Zoco III Milenio by photographer José Luis Vidal Coy.
This exhibition is part of the Exhibition Plan Plan organized by the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, ICA, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Lorca.
The mayor has detailed that "it is a collection of photographs of documentary type, reportage, made in the weekly market held every Thursday in Murcia."
On the same, the expert in ethnography Muñoz Zielinski says that "the daily life of a place slides between rushes and breaks, business and tasks, joys and longings." The photographer has rarely stopped to collect thematically the places and daily rituals.
Vidal Coy has a great photographic and journalistic experience: he was correspondent and special correspondent for the EFE Agency and Diario 16 in the Middle East from 1979 to 1994, from 1995 to 2009 he worked for the newspaper La Verdad and from 2002 to 2017 he has been an associate professor of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation of the UMU, for which he is a Doctor in Information and Documentation.
He has made numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Regional Archive of the Region of Murcia, in Elda, in the Molinos del Río, in the La Aurora Gallery (Murcia), in the Pedro Cano de Blanca Foundation, in the Real Casino de Murcia or in the Almudí.
