The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), Mario Urrea, met today with the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, accompanied by his team, as well as representatives of the neighborhood association of El Campillo and the Platform of Affected by the Floods.
The spokesmen of the neighbors have transmitted their requests regarding the security against the floods in the municipality, that was affected by the flood of 2012. For its part, Urrea has informed them of the actions that CHS is carrying out to solve the specific problems of the channels in the area and also of the general solution that will suppose the dams of Béjar, Torrecilla and Nogalte, whose construction corresponds to the Confederation.
In addition, the meeting has been extended with the mayor of Lorca, to discuss various issues of competence of the basin organization in the municipality.
The president of the CHS has committed to studying the demands raised by Fulgencio Gil within the framework of institutional loyalty and due cooperation between administrations.
