Fulgencio Gil: "we bet for quality and excellence as distinctive elements in tourism, with the aim of improving the value offered to the customer, through experiences that differentiate and enhance the personality and positioning of Lorca."
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, along with the Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Montiel, has reported the implementation of a broad promotional campaign to disseminate the high quality of the Lorca establishments, specifically those that have been awarded the badge awarded for the Integral System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations (SICTED).
Fulgencio Gil said that the City Council wanted to take another step and as it was addressed in the last Bureau of Tourism Quality of Lorca.
The initiative that we have undertaken contemplates the design and edition of 3,000 copies of an exclusive pocket publication of these establishments and services, which includes the list of all the companies that are distinguished in the project.
A brochure holder has also been designed so that companies can have their own tourist information point in their establishments.
All these elements and supports will contribute to a greater visibility of the establishments that work for the improvement and to offer a higher quality to their clients, visitors and tourists.
The Mayor explained that what makes a competitive tourist destination is the ability to increase their interest and attract more and more visitors, who have to offer satisfactory experiences that improve the welfare of residents, while preserving natural resources and cultural destinations for future generations.
This is the road we are working on, in competitiveness, in differentiation, in sustainability, and without quality this is not possible.
We are living moments of great changes marked by an unstoppable process of globalization, led by the irruption of new technologies, changes in the way of consumption.
No doubt we have to adapt to these changes, based on the search for excellence and continuous improvement and differentiation, and quality is the way to take advantage of the new opportunities that arise.
The First Edil stressed that we are committed to quality and excellence as distinctive elements in tourism, with the aim of improving the value offered to the client, through tourism experiences that differentiate and enhance the personality and positioning of Lorca within the sector, achieving the implication and awareness of businessmen to provide a high quality service to tourists and visitors.
The destination Lorca is consolidated within the Integral System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations, to which it has been attached since 2005. The city has a total of 52 companies and services working on this project initiated and sustained together with the Secretary of State of Tourism.
The adhesion to the project supposes for the tourist destinations, the implantation of a structure of management oriented to improve the competitiveness of the tourist companies, at the time that offer a level of homogeneous quality in all the tourist services to increase the satisfaction of the tourists fomenting their loyalty
For companies, meanwhile, means the improvement of internal management, especially the processes related to customer satisfaction, the qualification of the human team through training programs and opt for the "Commitment to Tourist Quality" seal, a seal that certifies and certifies its firm commitment to excellence and its commitment to quality in the provision of the service and continuous improvement.
The Department of Tourism also wants to put the emphasis on the participation of companies and professionals in improving service and contribution to the common benefit of the destination, at the same time thanking the work they do for the benefit of the municipality and encourages everyone to continue doing so .
After months of work, training modules, collective work workshops and more than 100 individual visits of advice and control, as well as 48 external evaluations, the establishments and professionals have seen how their efforts to improve their services and quality of they have their recognition now.
And we hope that next year will be added the rest of establishments that are working on it.
In the past interdestine committee renewed its distinctive 35 companies, and obtained new distinction 12 more than the total of those who are currently working on the project.
