The Councilman of Culture of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, together with the President of the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users, Carmina Reverte, have presented the VI edition of the traditional Christmas Concert organized by this group with the collaboration of the Consistory Lorca
The director of the Municipal Band of Music, Antonio Manzanera, accompanied them in the presentation.
The Guerra Theater will host the concert that will take place on Wednesday, December 26 at 8:00 p.m.
The Municipal Music Band, directed by Antonio Manzanera, will participate first.
In second place will participate the Santa Cecilia Choir, directed by Jesús Jódar Manzano, to interpret popular Christmas carols.
Both formations will join at the end of the performance to sing Christmas compositions, completing a very rich afternoon in culture and solidarity.
And, although the entrance to the concert will be free, whoever wants it can deliver non-perishable food or toys for the needy, since volunteers from Cáritas will be present at the Theater to collect the solidarity of those who want to collaborate and have not had the opportunity to do it in other solidarity initiatives.
As for the program, the Municipal Music Band will pay homage to Leonard Bernstein for the centenary of his birth, Ennio Morricone for his 90 years and John Williams.
The rest of the compositions will be Christmas carols and traditional Christmas songs.
Llamas has indicated that "one more year, and it is already the sixth, the Association of Housewives offers Lorca and Lorca this great festival with which we commemorate Christmas through music." Once again we will have the opportunity to listen to the Coral Santa Cecilia, which has 40 members, including many members of the Association of Housewives, will also play the Municipal Band of Music offering songs from this time so endearing that we will commemorate.
