The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, and the president of the New Lorca Association, Mario Aguilar, presented this morning a holiday that has organized this group, with the theme "Smiles and solidarity this Christmas" , in order to let Lorca know the Christmas culture of their regions, the different customs that help to remember their roots, and show their solidarity.

Fátima Mínguez explained that "this activity, in which it is intended that no child is left without toys in these dates full of joy, hope and peace, will take place on December 23 from 10 to 20 hours at the Trade Fair Center and Congresses of Lorca The day will be composed mainly of a children's program composed of ten activities ".

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare added that "the main event will focus on the election of the Christmas Princess 2018, which will involve 6 girls between the ages of 6 and 10. Then a performance will be developed. of the Payasa Chispitas, with which children will be able to play and have fun, in addition to performing children's theater, contests, games, painting workshops and inflatable mats throughout the day, after which the arrival in a Santa Claus carriage will take place. gifts for all children and there will be dance performances with the participation of dance groups from Ecuador, the performance of Vero Andreu and a music band ".

Mínguez stressed that "the delivery of 1,200 toys and 1,200 bags of candy to children attending the event will be held at the end of the children's program." It is important to note that from 10 o'clock there will be an information table where tickets will be delivered to all children aged between 0 and 9 years, until the stock is exhausted, each child will be given a ballot that can then be exchanged for a toy ".

The Edil of Family and Social Welfare has indicated that "for the New Lorca Association, which has as its main objective the integration of South American immigrants, it is a tradition to carry out this endearing multicultural act with which they want Lorca to know their customs and where Children are the protagonists, so we encourage all citizens to participate in this Christmas event and learn how Christmas is lived in other parts of the world, while enjoying the folklore of several countries where ancestral customs are identified " .
