The Ministry of Development has tendered the works of the "Adaptation Project to Royal Decree 635/2006 of the Lorca Tunnel.
Freeway A-7.
Province of Murcia ", with a bidding budget amounting to 1.35 million euros.
The Ministry of Public Works prepared the "Plan for Adapting the State Road Tunnels to the requirements established in Royal Decree 635/2006".
This Royal Decree constitutes the current regulations in Spain regarding safety in the tunnels of the State Highway Network.
Based on the aforementioned plan, the present project has been drafted, whose action therefore consists in the design of the necessary equipment that is not available for the Lorca tunnel.
The interurban tunnel of Lorca is composed of two unidirectional tubes with separate lanes of two lanes in each tube.
It was put into service in 1998. The speed of circulation is limited to 80 km / h and allows the passage of dangerous goods as part of the Network of Routes for Dangerous Goods (RIMP).
The action consists, therefore, in the adaptation of the Lorca facilities to the requirements of RD 635/2006.
In particular, the following actions are planned:
- Fire detection system
- Hydrant network
- Emergency light
- Energy supply
- Horizontal signage
- Beaconing using a headlight
- Restoration of the CRT by milling and replacement
- Actions against leaks
