The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has reiterated his commitment to promote, from the municipal government, a common front, gathering the support of all Lorca society, of all social and economic agents, in what will be a bet determined by the development that "deserves" the University Campus of Lorca.
"It will be the cornerstone in the development of Lorca as an innovative city, as a modern city, with a future that grows betting on knowledge, research and development".
"We have everything necessary for Lorca to shine again, and for this, a fundamental axis will be to unlock the development of the University, burdened by more than ten years in which the Popular Party governments in Lorca have turned their backs to the Campus, serving as a tray to the Autonomous Government the perfect excuse for it to have disengaged when it comes to promoting the logical growth that was expected from the public university in Lorca, "said Mateos.
Mateos has assured that "I will not resign myself with Lorca appearing, day in and day out, leading negative indicators or, at best, touching the approved one".
Thus, the mayoral candidate regretted that Lorca has been in the news these days to head the list of municipalities with large population of the country "with less innovative capacity," according to the BBVA-Ivie report.
"I am worried that they see us as a city that turns its back on innovation, when we have elements to spare, enough potential, talent, if they put themselves in value, to get out of conformism and turn this situation around".
The SOL project, which the PSOE has prepared to govern Lorca, contemplates solutions for the development of the University.
"We believe in the public University, as an engine of development, wealth and employment, in addition to which I am convinced that it will serve as a revulsive, social and economic factor for the area of ​​the San Cristobal neighborhood."
Without going any further, this morning, the PSOE has managed to gather the support of all parties with municipal representation through a motion with which they insisted again on the solutions needed by the University Campus in Lorca.
In her, they have obtained the favorable vote to questions like directing a writing of all the Corporation, so that to advance in the necessity to obtain the implantation of the title of Occupational Therapy in the Campus of Lorca.
In addition, with its motion, the PSOE has once again claimed the necessary investments to undertake, as soon as possible, the installation of the socialization and gymnasium, necessary for the normal functioning of the Campus.
Also to get the air conditioning of the B building of the Lorca campus, necessary for the study room and the future classrooms of Occupational Therapy.
With this initiative, the PSOE Lorca has also highlighted the need to allocate more teachers to full time.
"We must respond to the demand for staff, and meet the needs raised by the teachers."
