Mateos celebrates the "right idea" that the new square created in Santiago Street bears the name of the Brotherhood of the Curia and proposes to continue with these recognitions so that all the Brotherhoods, that with their heritage, work and legacy, contribute to the greatness and majesty of our Holy Week, have a place with your name on the street layout of the city "
The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has proposed dedicating the name of public spaces to the brotherhoods and Steps that, for now, such as Paso Azul, Paso Morado or the Archconfraternity of Jesus Risen, do not have the outstanding recognition they deserve in the Street map of the municipality.
"The greatness of our Holy Week deserves its recognition, and what better way than dedicating the name of public spaces to all the Steps".
Mateos has celebrated this morning the "right idea" that the new square created in Santiago Street, on the side of the church of Santiago, has received the name of "Plaza de la Hermandad de la Curia", in recognition of this brotherhood whose foundation dates from the year 1725. A decision, remembers, adopted by the unanimous will of all the parties with municipal representation in the Excmo.
City Council of Lorca, in the plenary session on January 28.
"It is justice that, for the sake of continuing to extol our Holy Week, its greatness and its majesty, we are able to highlight and recognize those who make it possible so be it, to those who work and dedicate their lives so that we can feel that pride" , assured Mateos.
"Therefore, to continue highlighting the uniqueness of our Holy Week, and why not, to grant equal treatment to all the brotherhoods, let us work together in the search for spaces, according to their opinion, that they can receive the Name of these Steps, which results in that necessary recognition to those who make it possible for us to boast of a Holy Week declared of International Tourist Interest ".
Mateos has been convinced that this proposal will find the "unanimity" of all political forces, so he has not doubted that, if not proposed by the City Council, will be an initiative that the PSOE Lorca will take to the next Plenary.
