The Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, together with the president of the Cazalla Intercultural Association, Manuel Semitiel, have announced the launch of the LAB31 project, a program funded by the Erasmur + program of the European Union with which it is intended complement the integration and learning of Spanish programs at the San Cristóbal school in the municipality.
Llamas has announced that "Cazalla Intercultural has already started the creative workshops framed in this ambitious project, which is the Lab31.These are activities that aim to help foreign or unaccompanied children between 7 and 14 years old from the San Cristóbal school. Lorca's integration into the cultural and social life of the city is an initiative that thanks to the management of Cazalla Intercultural is funded with European funds in its entirety, so it does not entail any economic outlay for families of the participants nor for the City Council ".
The president of the association, Manuel Semitiel, explained that "through these activities, in which schools participate in this educational center, we intend to generate new ways to facilitate personal development, social integration and learning Spanish among families of the educational community of the San Cristóbal School, which has an important percentage of immigrant students or descendants of immigrants, with whom we work very well for its full integration ".
The group has hired three specialists in art therapy and music therapy to develop this initiative.
Through dynamics of mutual knowledge, drawing, collective writing of stories and corporal expression, such as dance, theater and music, will help during the afternoons of Tuesdays and Thursdays of this course to boys and girls in the development of their imagination, in the expression of their feelings and emotions, as well as in communication and relationship with others through the game.
The initiative is executed at no cost to the participants or to the municipal coffers and is financed with European funds thanks to the association of Cazalla Intercultural with entities of Crotone (Italy), Liverpool (United Kingdom), Prague (Czech Republic), Forest ( Belgium), Bucharest (Romania), Galati (Romania) and Nicosia (Republic of Cyprus).
